About Us
Rocky Mountain Run is owned and operated by Bonnie Orlando with assistance from her good friend Miranda Beaudry. All of RMR's stock is hand picked for its conformation, temperament, under saddle abilities, and lineages. Color is just a plus. We breed by making educated decisions on pedigree and genetics in order to preserve the older lines without inbreeding or genetic defects/abnormalities. Our horses are not just breeding stock, we ride everything on the farm that is of age. Bonnie personally trains all of her own stock using natural horsemanship methods once they're between 3-5 years of age. RMR's Rockies are primarily trained for trail style riding, but with the foundation they are given they could go any way you'd desire. Bonnie strives to teach all of her stock the same cues and will take the time to teach/show any buyer the way they were trained for said cues. Bonnie strives to match the person to the horse. A great home is always at the top of the list for our beloved equines! If she does not have a horse for you, she will gladly point you in the direction of someone who may.

How it started
Bonnie grew up with mules going coon hunting, camping, and riding through town. She did some showing in her younger years, and has more than enough horse experience and knowledge. Her mother decided one day that she wanted a horse and not a mule. They looked at several different horses together until they found the perfect mare for her mother. The mare that started Bonnie's obsession with the Rocky Mountain Horse. After a year of working with her mom's mare, studying the breed, talking to breeders, and learning more she made herself a member of the RMHA and came home with 5 more Rockies. 2 mares with babies by their sides and a stallion, Impulsive Ghost. As they say, you can't have just one.. and she began collecting more. And that is how Rocky Mountain Run was created.
*Bonnie and Miranda are both RMHA Examiners and lifetime members of the RMHA*
